What type of information do you collect?

I receive, collect and store any information you enter on my website or provide in any other way.  In addition, software such as WordPress and Google Analytics collects the Internet protocol (IP) address used to connect your computer to the Internet, computer and connection information.  Software such as Google Analytics may use software tools to measure and collect session information, including page response times, length of visits to certain pages, page interaction information, and methods used to browse away from the page.

​If you send an enquiry or register for tuition, I also collect (either electronically e.g. by Microsoft Forms or on paper) personally identifiable information, including name, address, phone numbers, email addresses, comments, feedback, recommendations and any other personal profile information relevant to providing the services (and marketing and advertising them, in accordance with your consents).

​How do you collect information?

When you fill in an enquiry form or a registration form on the website (or using a link from the website, for example to Microsoft Forms), as part of the process, I collect personal information you provide such as your name, address and email address.  I do not exclusively use providers and servers that are based in the United Kingdom.  I take care to safeguard your data and such personal information will only be used for the specific reasons stated above.

Why do you collect such information?

I collect both non-personal and personal information for the following purposes:

​To arrange and provide tuition services, including by using Apps where relevant e.g. for tracking progress from one tuition session to the next.

To provide users with ongoing assistance.

To be able to contact clients with general or personalised service-related notices and promotional messages.

To create aggregated statistical data and other aggregated and/or inferred non-personal information, which I or my business partners (such as WordPress, Wix, Google, Microsoft, GoCardless, Square, ColorNote and social media companies such as Facebook, X, Instagram and WhatsApp – in accordance with your consents in relation to social media) may use to provide and improve our respective services.

To comply with any applicable laws and regulations.

How do you store, use, share and disclose your site visitors’ personal information?

My business website is hosted on the WordPress platform. WordPress provides me with the online platform that enables me to sell my services to you online.  Your data may be stored through WordPress’s data storage, databases and the general WordPress applications.  They store your data on secure servers behind a firewall.

Payment details are collected directly from clients by GoCardless and Square (depending on the type of booking and payment), and stored by GoCardless and Square (respectively); this is currently handled separately from the website.

How do you communicate with your site visitors?

I reply to enquiries about tuition; register new clients and students and then contact clients for managing tuition sessions (including scheduling the sessions, providing related customer services, collecting payments, dealing with any complaints and disputes); inform potential, current and former clients of new services, and collect feedback, survey responses and endorsements (and respond to them as appropriate).

​For these purposes, I may contact clients by email, telephone, social media including WhatsApp and Instagram, text messages, and post.

​How do you use cookies and other tracking tools?

I use Google Analytics to track online visits.  Any other cookies would be associated with WordPress in its routine operation of hosting the website, or any add-ons provided by WordPress to enable the processing of enquiry forms, registration forms and the like.

​How can site visitors withdraw their consent?

I reserve the right to modify this privacy policy at any time; please review it frequently. Changes and clarifications will take effect immediately upon their posting on the website.  If I make material changes to this policy, I will notify you here that it has been updated, so that you are aware of what information I collect, how I use it, and under what circumstances, if any, I use and/or disclose it.
